The New Zealand Search and Rescue (NZSAR) Consultative Committee represents the key agencies operating in the search and rescue sector.
The Committee links the NZSAR Council, NZSAR Secretariat, SAR providers, organisations with an interest in SAR prevention and other SAR activities.
It serves as a forum for all SAR stakeholders, including NGOs and voluntary groups. The committee is the channel through which issues generated at an operational level are fed into the governance process.

AREC is the public service arm of the New Zealand Association of Amateur Radio Transmitters, whose members provide communications for Search and Rescue at multiple levels.
